Towards the Canonization of the 32 Blessed Martyrs of Orange

From July 6 to 26, 1794, 32 women religious –including 16 Ursulines - , refusing to deny their Catholic faith, and wanting to remain faithful to Jesus, offered their lives in a supreme gift of martyrdom. They were beatified on May 10, 1925. Their liturgical feast is on July 9.
Every year, since the French Revolution, hundreds of persons come to pray and entrust their
inventions in the Chapel of Gabet, a few kilometers from the city of Orange.

In a Decree on November 27, 2018, Monsignor Cattenoz, Archbishop of Avignon, named Father Hubert Lelièvre as Diocesan Postulator for the Canonization of the Blessed Martyrs of Orange.

The Cause is being organized :
-  The Postulator seeks to contact the families and descendants of the 32 Blessed Religious Martyrs.
-  He assembles willingly written attestations of graces and favors received through the intercession of these Blessed Martyrs.
-  He seeks to know where these Blessed Sisters are prayed in France nnd throughout the world : Chapels, families, parishes, scout movements, pilgrimages…
-  He is searching for books, pictures, and documents concerning the Blesed Martyrs. .

Here is the text of the official prayer for the Canonization of the 32 Blessed Martyrs of Orange :

O Lord our God,
You have given your Church
the 32 Blessed Martyrs of Orange.
They lived the Christian vocation to which they had been called
by their Baptism and their religious consecration,
constantly seeking to do Your Will,
ultimately offering their own lives through faithfulness to Jesus.
Instill in us a burning desire
to live here on earth with our gaze turned towards Heaven,
so that one day we may,
along with them,
praise Your Mercy forever.
Through their intercession,
we ask You to grant us the grace to …;
in the hope that soon we may see them declared holy.
Through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
